Alltogether six athletes from Stanford Lake College competed in the District Athletic Trials at Nkowankowa on Thursday the 27th of February. These athletes did exceptionally well, especially Lia Revelas who gave a dominating performance in the 400m and 100m hurdles items.
Revelas broke the provincial record in the 400m hurdles race with a time of 1:04,37. Kian Noné and David Ramalepe who are in Gr.9 both qualified for the South African championship in the high jump and 100m items respectively.
Both these boys also jumped and ran their personal best times at this event. Mada Buliani who is in Gr.11 faced some tough competition on the track and despite not running a qualifying time, he did record a new personal best time.
Devon Coad who is Gr.10 and Hosea Muleya from Gr.12 put in some great performances and both were unfortunate to narrowly missed out on qualifying for Limpopo colours.
